I had major pain in my lower molar and needed an emergency dental surgery appointment. I called the line and was met by the kindest and most patient receptionist, I was in a lot of pain and wasn't able to speak properly but the receptionist got me booked in for that afternoon.I went in and had my tooth taken out and I thought it was going to be very painful but I was very wrong. The total procedure took about 40 mins and I was feeling really well after I was done. There is a minor bit of pain like with any extraction but Dr Ahmed and his assistant were some of the best people I have had dental work with. I have had work done in different countries and out of all places I felt really safe and welcomed at Shine Dental.I would recommend this place to anyone who needs their teeth out and is unsure or nervous of how things are going to go. When I woke up this morning for the first 5 mins I looked into the mirror and laughed as the pain I had been dealing with for such a long time was finally gone.Thanks,Benjamin

I saw Dee as a first time patient - I cannot speak highly enough of my experience.Dee is very calming and caring, in a very relaxing atmosphere.All the staff are very efficient and friendly.I also had to book an appointment for the hygienist for a clean - not always a pleasant experience when you have sensitive teeth. Jessica the hygienist was very kind and informative, and Liz the nurse very pleasant.Both visits very relaxed and top class care received. Just wonderful. Having a deep rooted fear of the dentist, Shine Dental have for the first time in my life made me feel okay about going to the dentist. Dee and the team have been fantastic in managing my dental care.I wasn't born with the best teeth - so managing them has always required a very good dentist (which is hard to find at the best of times).Dee and the team have consistently done a great job on a number of procedures including bone grafting, root canals, a complex maryland bridge and some clever composite bonding work to improve my bite (I won't do Invisalign, but my partner has invisible through Shine dental).I especially appreciate Dee referring to a number of specialists on some issues, and then actually coming back to me with recommendations (I trust her because she keeps her word).

I have a deep-rooted fear of dentists, stemming from a truly brutal experience in childhood. After that, I avoided the dentist for many years, only to finally build up the courage in adulthood — and was then met with another terrible, terrifying experience. You cannot underestimate the damage a bad dentist can do, both physically and psychologically.It took me a full year from my initial enquiry at Shine Dental Surgery to actually pluck up the courage to book an appointment. From the very first moment, I was met with genuine sympathy and understanding.Dee is extraordinary — her gentleness and expertise are second to none. I have gone from having full-on palpitations and sweat literally dripping from my body, to feeling almost relaxed about the whole process.I still wouldn’t say I enjoy dental appointments, but I am no longer paralysed by fear. That, for me, is a remarkable transformation, and I cannot thank Dee and the team enough.Highly recommended for anyone who feels anxious or fearful — you will be in the safest of hands.

I am beyond terrified of the dentist and haven't been to one for 20 years as a result. However I cannot rate Dr Dee Patel and her team highly enough, when I had to have an extraction recently. I cannot thank them enough for their patience whilst I was a hysterical mess and for being so empathetic and caring throughout the 2 appointments. The treatment was completely pain free and I am now joining Shine Dental as a patient. I was referred originally to Shine for a gum graft with their periodontist Tobias . I was so impressed with the practice and the resulting treatment that I moved practice and had a consultation with Dee for bridgework / smile makeover. The whole team are incredibly friendly and professional : Dee explained everything before and during treatment , putting me at ease throughout. I am over the moon with the results , giving me back the confidence to smile naturally again. The practice has a calm and relaxing ambience , and patient care is second to none ! I was very nervous about this appointment as I had my 3 month old son with me but I had no childcare. I shouldn't have worried as Dee put my mind at rest and made me feel completely welcome with him and said there were enough people to settle him if needed (it was only a check up appointment). I was completely put at ease and whilst having my check up someone did come in to keep my son occupied which made the whole experience less stressful!

Freindly, calm, no queues or waiting, receptionists helpful. Only issue I have had was poor advice and detail regarding the best way to progress my poor gum disease. Visiting different specialists at different times just taking money off me when process vould have been in a more cost efficient process.

Dee and the rest of team at Shine Dental Surgery, Ripponden are amazing.Going to the dentist is something i avoided until i really needed to go as i was so apprehensive. I was this way since my early years but since starting at Shine this has been totally reversed.Dee puts you totally at ease and explains each stage of your treatment so there are no surprises. The surgery is open and bright lending itself to making you more relaxed pre treatment. The same could be said of the treatment rooms.Costs are always a concern with dentists today, i have found Shine to be comparable with other dentists and the costs are outlined right from the start, so no surprises.I have recommended Shine to friends and family so wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone else.

The team at Shine Dental are amazing. 5* service. I took my 1 year old, Esme, to see Dee for her first ever trip to the dentist. Dee was fantastic with her, fun, engaging, thorough and most importantly patient. After Esme’s check up it was my turn for a check & clean. Ash came to the rescue when Esme was unsettled and kept her company, I was nervous taking my baby to my appointment but I didn’t feel rushed or uncomfortable for having Esme sit through my appointment too. I’ve been attending the practice for many years & have always been happy with the treatment and service. I had an appointment with Dee a few weeks ago as I was interested in composite bonding. She fully explained the process and advised me as to the best way forward. I agreed with her recommendation and the treatment took place after a short while. From my point of view the outcome is amazing - very natural and some of my friends haven’t even noticed the difference until it was pointed out to them ! The before and after pictures show the difference. Dee and her staff have been fabulous throughout - very attentive and caring and I would highly recommend them and the treatment

Much cheaper to see hygienist here than MyDentist in Halifax. Convenient appointment times (early mornings and evenings!) and free on road parking. Reception staff friendly and helpful and the place itself is welcoming and treatment is very good. Highly recommend.

She reassured me that my teeth look fine at the moment but she would keep an eye on a couple of things. I feel reassured that I've had a thorough check up and will be looked after extremely well going forward. Having not visited the dentist for 10 years having a phobia I required a deep clean. I was made to feel very comfortable and experienced no pain at all even when receiving the injections. I am far less apprehensive about my next appointment in a weeks time. Very happy with the whole experience and highly recommend!
